FSH News, Theater Room 2nd Floor — The Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta held a socialization session on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in online law for lecturers, as part of the Odd Semester Faculty Meeting for the 2026/2027 Academic Year (August 26, 2026). This activity is part of the faculty’s effort to enhance digital literacy and prepare lecturers to face technological developments that increasingly influence education and the field of law.

The session featured Mr. Ferdian Wahyu Romadoni as the speaker. In his presentation, he provided insights into the development of AI and the opportunities for its use in supporting academic and legal scholarship, particularly in accessing, processing, and analyzing various information and legal sources online.

AI utilization is considered a supportive instrument for lecturers in a wide range of activities, including preparing teaching materials, searching literature and regulations, processing legal information, analyzing documents, and supporting research processes. The presence of this technology is expected to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of academic work without diminishing the importance of critical thinking and legal expertise.

During the event, lecturers were also encouraged to understand the use of AI wisely, critically, ethically, and responsibly. This is crucial since information generated by AI must still be verified against credible legal sources and academic references. Academic integrity, information validity, data protection, and potential bias in AI use were highlighted as essential considerations in applying the technology.

Through this socialization, FSH encouraged lecturers not only to be technology users but also to strategically leverage AI to strengthen teaching, research, and the development of legal scholarship.

This initiative is expected to be the first step in building an academic culture that is adaptive to digital transformation.
