FSH News, 2th Room Theater - The Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta organized a coaching clinic entitled “Publish Your Research: Writing Clinic for Graduate Students” on April 30, 2026, at the Faculty’s Second Floor Theater. The event featured Lilis Mulyani, S.H., M.Pl., Ph.D., a researcher from Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), as the keynote speaker.
The program was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Mesraini, M.Ag., Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, who emphasized the importance of scholarly publication as an integral part of the academic responsibilities of graduate students. In his remarks, he also announced that the Faculty would host the 10th International Conference on Law and Justice (ICLJ) in collaboration with UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, encouraging students to actively contribute through the publication of high-quality academic work.
Prof. Mesraini explained that scholarly publication constitutes a vital component of both master’s and doctoral academic programs. Therefore, the coaching clinic was designed to strengthen students’ capacity to produce research outputs that meet academic standards while supporting the achievement of the institution’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
During the main session, Lilis Mulyani emphasized the importance of academic integrity in the research writing process. She explained that artificial intelligence technologies can serve as valuable tools to support academic work; however, all information generated or obtained through such technologies must be critically verified by researchers. She also highlighted the importance of avoiding plagiarism and other forms of academic misconduct in order to maintain the credibility and quality of scholarly publications.
In addition to discussing academic integrity, the speaker outlined effective strategies for academic writing, including identifying research objectives and target audiences, developing a coherent manuscript structure, constructing data-driven arguments, and conducting thorough revision and editing processes. Participants also gained insights into building strong academic arguments through issue identification, literature analysis, and the use of relevant and credible evidence.
The event was conducted in an interactive format and received enthusiastic participation from attendees, who actively engaged in discussions and raised various questions concerning academic writing and publication practices. Through this initiative, it is expected that graduate students of the Faculty of Sharia and Law at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta will be better equipped to produce high-quality, ethical, and impactful scholarly publications that contribute to the advancement of knowledge and academic excellence.
