FSH UIN Jakarta Visits SMA 5 Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Broadening Students’ Perspectives on Studying Outside Their Home Region
FSH NEWS, Yogyakarta — The Faculty of Sharia and Law (FSH) of UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta conducted a social outreach activity, educational information session, and promotional visit at SMA 5 Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The initiative was part of FSH UIN Jakarta’s efforts to introduce higher education, particularly in law and Islamic law, while broadening students’ perspectives on opportunities to pursue university studies outside their home region.
The activity began with a social outreach program, reflecting FSH UIN Jakarta’s commitment to supporting educational institutions and the wider community. Beyond its academic mission, the visit provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships and share information and motivation with students.
During the educational outreach and promotional session, the FSH UIN Jakarta team introduced the faculty, its study programs, campus environment, student activities, student achievements, and various personal development opportunities available to FSH UIN Jakarta students. To engage students more effectively, the session was divided into two classes. This arrangement enabled more interactive presentations and gave students greater opportunities to participate in discussions and learn more about FSH UIN Jakarta.
The students demonstrated enthusiasm throughout the event. They actively participated in the presentations and had the opportunity to learn more about the available study programs and university life at FSH UIN Jakarta.
According to Ms. Ririn, one of the teachers at SMA 5 Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, the educational outreach and promotional activity was expected to broaden students’ perspectives on higher education options, including opportunities to pursue their studies outside Yogyakarta.
“We hope activities like this will broaden students’ perspectives and help them understand that their options for pursuing higher education are not limited to Yogyakarta. By learning about various universities, students can discover more opportunities and consider studying outside their home region, including at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta,” said Ms. Ririn.
She also expressed her hope that the activity would motivate students to explore higher education options more confidently in accordance with their interests, potential, and aspirations.
The visit to SMA 5 Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta forms part of FSH UIN Jakarta’s commitment to expanding its network of partner schools and madrasahs across various regions. Through social outreach and educational promotion, FSH UIN Jakarta not only introduces academic opportunities but also encourages young people to broaden their perspectives when making decisions about their educational and career futures.
