He highlighted that students will learn from lecturers who not only have academic competence but also professional experience, creating a rich and dynamic learning environment.
Prof. Maksum encouraged students to build strong collaboration with lecturers, which is expected to produce innovative, high-quality research contributing to the advancement of knowledge and society.
“Students are expected to utilize all resources available at the faculty. Lecturers are not only teachers but also partners in the academic journey and research development,” he stated.
Exploring Contemporary Challenges in Sharia Economic Law
The Stadium General session featured Prof. Dr. KH. Hasanudin, M.Ag., moderated by Dr. Hidayatulloh, Ph.D. In his presentation, the speaker discussed the dynamic development of contemporary issues in sharia economic law, driven by technological progress and digital transformation.
Technological advancements have introduced new transaction models previously unknown in conventional or sharia economic systems. This situation presents new challenges, as sharia-related issues in modern transactions are increasingly complex and multidimensional.
The speaker emphasized that evaluating a transaction cannot rely solely on the validity of the contract (akad). A more comprehensive approach is needed, integrating perspectives from fiqh, maqashid sharia, technology, governance, risk management, and consumer protection.
Such an approach is essential to ensure that modern economic and financial developments remain aligned with sharia principles while addressing the challenges of the digital era.
The discussion also covered the expanding financial services sector, including banking, capital markets, insurance, financing institutions, pension funds, pawnshops, microfinance, as well as fintech lending and digital payment systems.
Through this Stadium General, students are expected to gain broader insights into the development of sharia economic law and the challenges they will face in the era of digital transformation.
The Stadium General and Orientation for New Students marked the beginning of the academic journey for Master’s students in Sharia Economic Law and Family Law, as well as Doctoral students in Sharia Sciences at FSH UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. With a spirit of collaboration, strengthened research, and scholarly development, these new students are expected to make meaningful contributions to the advancement of law, sharia, and society.
