LKBH UIN Jakarta Steps Up Accreditation Drive
FSH News, Dean's Office Meeting Room - The Faculty of Sharia and Law at Syarif Hidayatullah State Islamic University, Jakarta, continues to intensify accreditation preparations for the Legal Consultation and Assistance Center as one of the priority programs in institutional development during the current leadership period. Efforts to obtain accreditation have been underway for the past several years, but various administrative and technical obstacles have prevented the process from being completed optimally. Therefore, the faculty is once again taking strategic steps to ensure the institution’s readiness for the upcoming accreditation process.
The Faculty of Sharia and Law’s Legal Consultation and Aid Institution has a long history of providing legal aid services, legal consultations, and community empowerment. Since its establishment, this institution has served as a practical learning platform for students and has produced many alumni who now work as advocates, legal consultants, academics, and professionals in various fields of law.
The institution’s experience in handling various legal cases, implementing community empowerment programs, conducting paralegal training, and providing technology-based legal aid services through the electronic court system serves as a key asset in the accreditation application process. In addition to providing services to the community, the institution also serves as a practical training and learning platform for students to gain firsthand understanding of various aspects of procedural law and judicial practice.
On April 6, 2026, the accreditation team held another coordination meeting to evaluate the completeness of the data and documents required for the accreditation process. The meeting was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Sharia and Law, the Vice Dean for General Administration, the management of the Legal Consultation and Aid Institution, and the accreditation team.
During the meeting, a review of various supporting documents was conducted by categorizing data into those that were complete, those still undergoing refinement, and those requiring further follow-up. This step was taken as a precaution in anticipation of the potential opening of the accreditation registration process in the near future.
It is hoped that the LKBH’s accreditation will not only serve as recognition of the institution’s quality but also as a means to enhance professionalism, service capacity, and the institution’s contribution to supporting access to justice for the public.
