BAN-PT Field Assessment of Family Law Master Programme: UIN Jakarta's Commitment to Excellent Accreditation

FSH NEWS, Madya Meeting Room - The Master of Family Law (MHK) Study Programme, Faculty of Sharia and Law UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta underwent a BAN-PT Accreditation Field Assessment which went smoothly and full of collaborative spirit. This activity was attended by two assessors from the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT), namely Prof. Dr. Sudirman, M.A. from UIN Malang and Prof. Dr. H. Ramdani Wahyu Sururie, M.Ag., M.Si. from UIN Bandung. (16/09/2025)

The opening ceremony of the assessment was held at the Faculty of Sharia and Law with a warm welcome from various university leaders. The Rector of UIN Jakarta, Prof. Dr Asep Saepudin Jahar, M.A., Ph.D., in his speech, conveyed the importance of cross-unit collaboration to strengthen the quality of state Islamic religious universities (PTKIN). He emphasised that accreditation is not just a numerical achievement, but a tangible manifestation of commitment to maintaining the quality of human resources, academic culture, and global competitiveness.

Meanwhile, the Dean of FSH, Prof. Dr Muhammad Maksum, S.H., M.A., M.D.C., in his speech, expressed his appreciation for the presence of the assessors and underlined the readiness of the faculty and study programmes in facing this assessment. He also emphasised the commitment to continue to improve and enhance quality, especially on the aspects noted by the assessors.

Vice Rector I, Dr Tholabi Kharlie, S.Ag., S.H., M.H., in his speech also said that UIN Jakarta hopes that this assessment process can run objectively and optimally. He also requested that space be given to improve and re-narrate the points that are still considered weak, so that they can be more in accordance with the reality on the ground and accompanied by concrete evidence.

The assessor, Prof. Dr Sudirman, M.A., appreciated the improvements made by the MHK study programme team before the assessment took place. He emphasised the importance of preparing an objective and maximum description, and encouraged the strengthening of the study programme development roadmap, including services to alumni.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Ramdani Wahyu Sururie, M.Ag., M.Si., in his closing remarks said that the assessor's task is not to find shortcomings, but to explore the best potential of the study programme and strengthen the commitment to sustainable quality. He highlighted the importance of continuity between the vision of UIN Jakarta and the MHK Study Programme, as well as the need to answer contemporary scientific challenges in the field of family law. He also mentioned the decline in FSH alumni in religious courts, and encouraged there to be a coaching programme for prospective judges.

In closing, the Dean of FSH, Prof. Dr Muhammad Maksum, S.H., M.A., M.C., again expressed his gratitude for the input and direction from the assessors. He affirmed the commitment of study programmes and faculties to immediately improve the things suggested, and appreciated all those who had contributed to this assessment process, including the team of caprodi, sekprodi, internal assistant assessors, and all supporting teams.

This assessment process is expected to be a strategic step towards superior accreditation for UIN Jakarta's Master of Family Law Study Programme, as well as a momentum for reflection and continuous improvement in maintaining academic quality in the FSH environment.[NA]
